Google celebrates Brancusi’s birthday!

Google had a special home page logo honoring Constantin Brancusi’s 135th birthday today! The logo features seven of Brancusi’s sculptures; Prometheus, Leda, The Newborn, Sleeping Muse, Mademoiselle Pogany, Bird in Space, and The Kiss.

My first introduction to Brancusi was in my modern art history class in college. He was my assigned research project and I fell in love with his sculptures. “Bird in Space” is calming yet powerful…my favorite.  Thank you Dr. Linda Partridge for opening my eyes to this fantastic artist!
