Happy Birthday Georgia O’Keeffe!

Georgia O’Keeffe was born on November 15, 1887 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

O’Keeffe went to art school at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York City.

O’Keeffe’s most famous work is her series of flower paintings especially Canna Red and Orange painted in 1926.

Three interesting facts about O’Keeffe:

1. O’Keeffe was a public school art teacher in Amarillo, Texas before she became famous.

2. O’Keeffe was married to photographer Alfred Stieglitz.


O’Keeffe died on March 6, 1986 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
