Roy Lichtenstein was born on October 27, 1923 in New York, New York.

Lichtenstein went to art school at Ohio State University.

Lichtenstein was part of the following art movements: Pop Art

Lichtenstein’s most famous work is Drowning Girl painted in 1963.

Three interesting facts about Lichtenstein:

1. Lichtenstein’s work is known for using “Benday Dots” to create paintings that resemble comic book illustrations.

2. Lichtenstein was a Professor of Art at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

3. Lichtenstein began to use Benday Dots in his work after his son challenged him to paint better than his Mickey Mouse comic book pictures.

Lichtenstein died on September 29, 1997 in New York, New York.
