Happy Birthday Umberto Boccioni!

Umberto Boccioni was born on October 19, 1882 in Reggio Calabria, Italy.
Boccioni went to art school at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome.
Boccioni was part of the following art movement: Futurism
Boccioni’s most famous work is a bronze sculpture called Unique Forms of Continuity in Space made in 1913.
Three interesting facts about Boccioni:

1.  He studied under Giacomo Balla, a divisionist painter.
2.   He published a work called the Technical Manifesto of the Futurist Painters to explain the goal of Futurism.
3.  He was killed by a fall from a horse while in the army.
Boccioni died on August 16, 1916 near Verona.
