My name is Mary Cassatt and I was born on May 22, 1844 near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I went to art school at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
My most famous painting is The Child’s Bath painted in 1893.
Three interesting facts about me:
1. I loved painting women and children even though I had no children of my own.
2. I was very good friends with painter Edgar Degas.
3. Although I am an American, I paint in the style of the French Impressionists.
I died June 14, 1926 near Paris, France.
Quote: “I am independent! I can live alone and I love to work.”
